Been a Long Semester

So the semester is over. IT TOOK 5EVER! This was one of the most trying semesters i have had. And all the pain and BS came from 2 classes. Those two Education classes sucked all the fun outta the rest of school. All i have to say is i am done with dr garcia and he doesnt have to worry bout dealing with me either.
So i am signed up for 14 hrs next semester plus observation time and all of my classes are evening courses. It means i should have time to work so thats good cuz i didnt work but maybe 5 days this last semester. The bank account isnt lookin too pretty. I also switched my 2ndary focus from math to biology. So i am taking ecology, evolutionalry theory, elementry phys ed managment, and instructional methods of 2ndary schools. The Biologys sound ok but the ED classes suck. I have to observations again this semester but thats it. then no more till i have to student teach. I will be in an elementry school :-( and double :-( because i cant get my student teaching exempt.
Other than that cant complain i guess. Had a great week hanging out with shannon and went to see the girls in their winter dance recital. Next week is Xmas, and then 2010. Where does the time go? Not too much else going on, just gotta get my shopping done and all the gifts wrapped. Figure i will be spending alot of time at the gym for the next couple weeks since i got no work and no class. maybe go over and do some work at the folks house. . . who knows

I hate the cold

Yeah so i am not keeping up with this thing like i wanted to. Ya know i have it so that it pops up EVERYtime i log on but i always tell myself later, i will write later, and well then i never do. So again i wont be long but heres whats going on. . .

Its dead week at TAMUSA. I only have class on Tuesday and no Thursday classes, and then next week is finals! I kinda sucks cuz ALL 4 of my finals are on tuesday. Oh well its not like i am going to fail any of them. . . Wondering if i should study? oh well i got lotsa time to think about it.

Shannon is coming into town on thursday and staying to next monday. No idea what all the plans are yet, but itsa lways good times!

The weather has been super shitty. I hate the cold, nuff said, and there WILL BE NO SNOW THIS YEAR!

Went to Austin this weekend to help a friend find an apartment. Bounced around complexes all day and hit 6th st at nite. Austin really is nice but i couldnt handle the traffic and the god damn hippies. . . Plus all the UT people, yeah i get it we are in Austin and UT won, but everyone yelling in your face as you walk down the st is really a bit overboard.

So the would be fling never amounted to much; good and bad.

Thanksgiving was great, good food, family and hockey. Jerry and elizabeth won this year but there is controversy. They had a goalie and we didnt and victoria scored on her own goal. . . but i say they won and we will get them the next time!

Not reall much else to say, mom and dad are doin ok and we got dads shop all set up and the garage cleaned out. I got to get over there and get the Christmas tree set up and what not. Maybe tomorrow after class.

oh i got my classes set up for next semester: ecology, theory of evolution, nutrician, class mang in PHys Ed activities, instructional methods and stratagies in 2ndary school. most are nite classes which kinda sux cuz the one i wanna take will mean i cant bowl :( i will have to figure something out. . .

Well thats bout it for now, i am headed back out to do some more xmas shopping. . .

I had something i was thinking of today that i wanted to blog about but cant for the life of me remember. . . No worries, it was prolly a lie anyways.

Yeah so today was my next to last observation at Kirby. Mixed feelings. I am just now getting comfortable with the kids and i will miss having kids to yell at, but on the flip side i will be able to work again, for a few weeks and earn some money. Today was cool though. We started a unit on Tennis and i really like tennis, but we only have one week and there are ALOT of skills and rules to cram into 2 days so we can have them play for 3 days. . .

Stopped by target on the way home and picked up the new Patton Oswalt and Nick Swardson cd's. GOOD STUFF. I also bought the new Super Mario Bros Wii game. It is soooo much fun, but fuckin stressful!

I am playing video games when i should be catching up on school work that i have put off, but if i have put it off this long, it can wait another couple weeks, right?

The house is pretty clean, and staying that way. I am pretty excited bout that....ahhhh yes now i remember!

So i have been helpin my dad organize his tool shop and found a tub of stuff i thought i had lost or thrown away, it was cool. Well in it was most all the letters and cards i recieved while in the Corps. I went thru it all and organized it so that it would fit in a smaller container. Well i got to reading some for certian people and man, i wonder if i didnt miss some oppertunities. I dont know and i am not saying that people were throwing themselves at me, but the language used, did i ignore it cuz i thought i had someone or didnt look at them in "that" way? I dont know. You think 15 and 16 yrs is too late to ask? I had letters from people i dont remember keeping in touch with, yet me must have because they were answering questions that i apparently asked them. I also look back on the Corps and remember good things for the most part, its a game thats all. But in some of the stuff i was really down. . . Makes me really wantto keep up with this blog, but maybe i should start a personal one, one only i read, who knows.

So i got "permission" to tell, and i told diane and Leon, but i still dont want to broadcast. i am still on the fence about her.

So everyone seems to like the new do and face do, lets see how long it lasts. I tell you what it was friggin cold thismorning and i wish i had my wooly pully face.

So yeah i guess that will do it for now. gotta git ready for my bullshit classes in the morning...

shaving day. . .

Yeah as soon as i am done with this i am goin to go shave. Not sure if i will leave a goat or stash, or even a tickler, but the bulk is coming off.

So the Marine Corps Birthday was good, for the most part. I HAD to go to class cuz i had 2 exams and a lab. I didnt wanna go, i woulda rather gone and golfed but i didnt have the pleasure. So the tests werent so bad, and the lab didnt take but an hour. I met James up at Outback Steak House and we ate some steak. I got a 20 oz T-Bone and he got a 16 oz Ribeye i think. They were awesome. We talked bout the Corps and whats goin on now. It was a good nite. I miss the Corps alot, but i dont miss babysitting and the deployments. I was thinking bout it, and i know i should think bout it more often than just veterans day and Marine Corps bday, but i really dont have it so bad. I am not deployed, i am not having to carry my rifle everywhere i go, not having to worry bout getting in a fire fight, none of that anymore. The things i am worring about are rediculas. Well i am starting from scratch with a new attitude, well trying anyways. I still want to say Happy 234th Birthday Marines, thank you all, Semper Fidelis.

Veterans day rocked! Best day i have had in a long time. It was a long day but great. I went to go see my cousin Natalie at her school and i was her show and tell for veterans day. She is a spittin image of her mom, and she is just so funny. We talked and she told me all bout trick or treating and how her school works. She is in a Spanish imersion (sp?) program. Right now 90% of her curriculum is in spanish, in Kinder! They start to scale it back, but Spanish instruction is mixed in from kinder thru 9th grade. It was really cool to see. She showed me her spot on the reading mat and her desk and then they showed me how they do motor skills practice. I really enjoyed it and wish i coulda stayed all day. After that i figued since i was over on the El paso side of town that i would go see MFC (my favorite cousin). I t was a good visit and got to catch up with her. Faye came in to get her hair cut so i got to talk to her and it was really nice seeing them somewhere other than once a year that the 4th of July. After visiting with the for a few hours i went and played golf with the John Mouton. Tang and i went and played at Willow Springs by the ATT Center. I really played well. I am trying to get a handicap establised so i am counting every shot and not taking muligans. I shot a 92. I was really please. My drives werent as straight as i woulda liked, but i didnt lose a single ball. My putting was spot on too. I didnt have a single 3 put. I am really amazed at how well i am playing since i had my clubs regriped. So after golf i figured i would go play some cards and round out the day with my poker friends. Sure nuff we had fun. I played the 530 game and got knocked out, but it gave me time to eat, and then played the 800 game. I got knocked outta that one too, but at least the company was good. Crystal showed up and we all had fun.

Needless to say it was a great couple days. I really enoyed it and see that i need to do that more. Get out and go have some fun. Lets see if i cant remember how.

Not staying up with this like i intended. . .

Yeah so i wanted to blog on this thing at least once a week but that hasnt panned out. I wish i could catch up on all the stuff thats been going on but heres the highlights.

i went to the dentist and that man has the BIGGEST HANDS IN THE WORLD!

i stopped playing poker for a few weeks, but back now
trying to get my classes picked and arranged for next semester
the beard is coming in nicely, but i want to shave sooooo bad. . .
kris is moving to austin, so i am going to loose my hangout buddy:-(
bowling sucks, i dont know what 2 do other than go back 2 the basics and throw a straightr ball
its time to start thinking bout renewing my lease, do i want to stay in this apartment

Well i am sure there is more, but i will try to keep up better with this thing. Went to see Couples Retreat tonite, it was friggin hilarious! I so love Vince Vaughn and John Favreaou. . . Also had an interesting nite at poker, we shall see what it leads to. . .
Well its 3am and i am sure i should be heading to bed, have a good one people and let's go Texans, take a crap on the Colts this Sunday!

My friggin crotch HURTS!

Damnit! i pulled my groin today during my wed evening class. The class is called Comlex Psychomotor Skills of children in elementry schools. Every week 4 people have mini teaches where they have to prepare a lesson and teach it to the rest of us. Let me tell you playing for 80 to 100 minutes a nite wears your ass out. . .
So anyways today there were 2 units on track, one on volleyball and one on life long fitness. The first track class was nice cuz the girl did power walking and how to prepare for the next step of track and feild events. The second unit on life long fitness was made into kinda a fun game and circut course. We exercised FOREVER it felt like then we went out for the second track unit. The subject was on sprints and relays. Well needless to say i DID NOT stretch out, and was trying to run MUCH faster than i should have. My frigging grion hurts!
So today was a LONG day. worked all day and let me tell you it was hot and humid out on that field. The mosquitos where thick as shit too! I figured i would stop by the folks house on the way home and walked into a mini disaster. The folks expedition broke down, so we spent 3 hours trying to get it fixed but finally dad let me call the dealership and let them come pick it up. Anyways the truck is at home and fixed with a new battery, and mom headed out to bingo.
So i am trying to stay awake long enuff to watch this weeks new Top Chef. Damn i hate getting addicted to a show. I wonder if this is how all the reality tv fans feel with survivor, big brother, dancing with the stars and idol....
so tomorrow i got 2 tests and a lab to get thru. Hope i can bowl tomorrow and i am playing golf on friday with uncle jim out at mission del lago. cant wait cuz i havent played wit hthe clubs since i had them regripped.

HE'S HOME!

Just got off the phone with mopm and she was on the way home from the hospitol with dad. They were stopping someplace to eat first cuz dad wanted some real food i am sure. I just cant tell you how relieved i am. I was so freaked out about him becoming paralyzed. So glad what i saw yesterday though. He stood straight up, without bending his knees or ankles, was able to bend at the knees and stand up with out help, able to grip my hand wityh a real hand shake, raise his arms over his head and pick up individual coins off a table top. Mom said that he walked around the 10th floor twice without needing to stop, but did slow down becuse he got winded from walking SO fast!
Now i just got to get him to take it slow enuff to heal up b4 he goes back out and tackles the world. . . I am sooooo very stoked!

Surgery Complete

Well it was a long day full of delays but it got done. Dad went in round 1845 and came out into recovery round 2030ish. Dr Neely, who has operated on dad 3 or 4 times already, said he did great and was moving his arms and legs and asking for a cup of coffee. We walked with him, he rolled in a bed, up to his room and made sure he was comfortable and then headed home. He will be in till Thursday, which is good, enuff time for him to start healing b4 he gets stir crazy. He will have to wear a neck brace for a while, i threatened to duct tape it on if i catch him without it. Well the surgery was a success, lets see if it helped. Anyways i got to get some sleep, been a long stressful day. . . . Two more days till the weekend. . .

MUSK!!!!

Yeah so i played cards tonite. It wasnt too bad. I dealt the first 2 games and played the last. So the last game there is a guy that comes everynite and i am NOT pulling punches when i say that he is a low watt full blown gurgling retard! Yeah He's not retartded but hes friggin WEIRD! He shouts MUSK! and laffs like scooby doo afterwards. He doesnt have a clue whats going on and plays any two cards and HITS like its now bodies business. So he came over late in the tourny with a HUGE stack and proceeded to sit down and win like 7 hands in a row with bullshit! So our table breaks and i go to a different table... I hit a run of good hands, pocket aces then pocket kings. I have a health stack and then i go over and knock that fucktard out! i had a ace queen and he went all in with a 10-9 offsuit. . . I had no desire to win the tourny, i just wanted to knock him out. . . mission accomplished.

So football tomorrow, prolly go over to the folks to watch Houston play. Dad is still on for surgery on tuesday so i am trying not to freak out this weekend. I got no homework this weekend, but i do have a paper and some lesson plans due in a couple weeks, not interested in starting so i am catching up on laundry and housework. . .

Whatelse. . . Its late, i am headed to bed, the new Dan Brown book is really goo, i'm bout half way thru in. Well the laundry is reay, i am outtie. . .

First Day at Kirby

So today was my first day observing at Kirby. No surprises other than the fact thatt the classes are small and the kids were pretty well behaved. We started the day getting the housework outta the way. We established a schedule, exchanged contact info and set up days for me to make my lesson plans. I will be teaching a unit a unit on basketball, one on track and the last on tennis. I am pretty ok with it even though i have NO clue about basketball, i think i can make a lesson a 6th and 7th grade class can follow and learn from. That was all first period, our conference period. 2nd and 3rd we streched them out and then did calisthenics. They are working on a volleyball unit now so we cut them into teams and let them play. Latter this week we are going to run mini tournys in class and give the winning team a free day next week. The next period is the football athletics. I went with the 8th grade boys coaches to watch the game footage from this last weekend. I really wish that i had gotten into the football program. Anyways i really need to start learning how football actually works and get positions down and that sortta stuff. The last class i stayed for was a girls pe class. It was a small class and the girls although willing to participate were NOT doing well on the calisthenics or on the volleyball skills. There were only two girls that had been playing either club ball or was playing for the school that had any clue what to do. I really think that they need more one on one time before they will be able to "play" a game. As i was leaving i ducked in to meet and talk with the principal and then i was on my way. On my way home i stopped off at Target on 78 to see if they had any Wii's, they had them on sale this week for $199.99. They did so i bought one, i also got the WiiPlay and Tiger Wood 2010 bundle pack. So yeah, for a non video game player i sure got a lot of video games; PS3, Wii, and DSi. Well i guess i should get the rest of my homework done. I got to finish up my lab for Exercise Phys and then do so BS for the education classes. . .

the first of many?

SO yeah i guess since i dont use myspace anymore and facebook doesnt excatly have a blog/journal function i shall begin here. . . Maybe one or two a week. . .

So right now we are still trying to get dad into surgery for his spine. He is getting really really bad. hard time moving and the whole nine yards. Went to eat supper over there yesterday abd he can hardly salt and pepper and cut ut his baked potatoe. . . REALLY FREAKS ME OUT!

School is sucking too. I just got my field based obsevation assignment, Kirby. Not at all what i wanted but i gotta deal with it. Looks like i will be working on Mon and Wed at Kirby and going to school on Tues, Wed nite and Thurs at A&M, and then maybe trying to get a job on fri to earn some money. My education classes are sucking and my kine classes arent too bad, but the measure and eval is a killer stat class that moves pretty damn fast!

there is other stuff goin on too but i will get into that laterz, i think this will work for my first installment. . .
